I’m a little concerned that this device is making me angry. Or at the very least, made me not want to exercise or use the device anymore. The set-up is a little tedious and does cost money to maintain. Before you can use LIFTID you need to go through a setup process, it is not as easy as just placing the device on your head and powering it on. I even skip a few steps (because I think the step is wasteful of my time and not necessary) and I still think it is too long of a process. In fact, the first time I read the instructions I noticed that there was a pretty significant typing error. Every step was printed twice, like someone speaking with a booming echo was narrating in my brain. This alone made my eyes tired and not want to continue. Once I got through the instructions I started mixing the saline solution that is required to make the non-reusable sponges active. After soaking my nightstand in saline, I placed the sponges in their homes and placed the device on my head. The instructions tell you to use the mirror provided to make sure the device is properly in place on your forehead. That was one of the steps I didn’t want to follow. I held the power button in until the device started beeping obnoxiously for 30 seconds! This really pissed me off because I use this device when Eli goes down for a nap and I have to be very quiet during this time. So I’m flying up off the ground and trying to run to the bathroom where the beeping is a little more muffled. This thing BEEPS so loud and sounds like a truck backing up and ends with a long, loud BEEP! Is this really necessary? Even if I wasn’t trying to be quiet, the sound would definitely have you a little hesitant to continue wearing it. Afterall, LIFTID is supposedly sending electrical pulses to your brain. Once 30 seconds of beeping, I stood there waiting to feel tingling or heat on my forehead and didn’t feel anything. it wasn’t until the second or third session, that I finally felt any sensations. I did however seem to hear and focus better during my session. The instructions recommend that you use the device while you read, write etc. Sessions last 20 minutes, so I decided to workout and watch tv, but I also used it while writing my first LIFTID blog. I don’t think I will use it again to write another blog, The blog writing/LIFTID session was not enjoyable – I felt like I had the worst case of ADHD for 20 minutes. It was very hard to focus and that is why the post was so short. Moreover, I have not used the device for a good couple of days now, because of my experience with it so far. I would rather use my 20 minutes to just workout. I’ll most likely try the device again in the near future, but I will need to buy more sponges off of amazon. Sponges are $10 for 5 sets – so it will cost $10 for every 5 sessions. Still a lot cheaper than in-office sessions, but LIFTID wants you to do 20 minute sessions daily for ultimate results. I’ll probably use it again this weekend and blog about it next week – So stay tuned!
